Few of my friends are always worried about their child's growth. Natasha always keeps me asking why her daughter is not gaining weight and why she falls sick again and again. The worms are parasites which feed off the host’s body and eventually result in malnutrition, affecting the healthy growth of the child. Worms may get entry into abdomen and create health problems . Though all age groups can get worms, kids are more susceptible. Worms in abdomen can affect the appetite and ultimately growth of a child. When a child is not eating properly we assume he is showing tantrums or too busy in playing and ignore it but it can be worms those are troubling the stomach. When to suspect worms? Itchy bottom, which is usually worse at night Redness around the bottom area Restlessness due to itching Difficulty in falling asleep Visible worms – small, white and 8-13 mm long (often mistaken for bits of toilet paper!) ...
Pregnancy is the best time to take extra care of yourself , to pamper yourself in
all possible ways. As you are mentally satisfied after conceiving, body secrets
happy hormones. You are stress free and family is also happy.Everyone cuddles the mom-to-be. Your skin shows your inner happiness. Pregnancy glow
appears and you get so many compliments!!!
In few women skin may take an opposite turn and you may develop dark
patches over face and other body areas ,as there is increased hormone load.
Also as you gain weight, body shape changes, fluid retention gives you overall
swollen appearance. Someone may lose her confidence.
*Here are some beauty tips to pamper your skin :
1) Apply some fresh aloe vera or aloe vera gel to your face once a day.
2) Apply curd on face and other areas where you see darkening, as it is a good
cleanser and exfoliator.
3) Applying pulp of papaya is also good as it is rich in vit.A
4) Face pack of multani mitti, turmeric powder and rose water is also soothing.
5) Milk cream and turmeric powder is de-tanning, it improves the skin tone and
complexion.
6) Lemon juice and curd is a natural bleach.
* For stretch marks:
1) Massage the whole body everyday with some warm olive/coconut/sesame
oil, let the oil absorb into the skin and 1/2 hr later have bath with warm water.
This will make the skin soft and moisturize it , so the skin will stretch easily and
you may get less stretch marks.
* For cracked heels:
As the body's metabolism increases in pregnancy you may feel more hot. This
may lead to cracked heels. In winter season, dry air also causes cracked heels.
1) At bedtime, wash your feet nicely and apply some good moisturizer and put
on socks.
2) Ayurvedic preparation "Shatdhaut ghrita" is a very good remedy for cracked
feet.
* For hairs:
1) For dry hairs: Oil your hairs once or twice a week with some good herbal
medicated oil, it will prevent itching and dry scalp.
2) For oily hairs: Wash your hairs twice or thrice a week ,as oil in hair will allow
more duct to settle on hairs .
3) For Dandruff: In stead of shampoo you can use Herbal powders of triphala,
ritha, shikekai and brahmi. Make a paste in water and apply as mask over the
scalp and leave it for 15 min and then wash off.
* To prevent sagging breasts:
As the breasts increase in size and weight during pregnancy , sagging may take place.
1) Wear a proper size bra that will support the breasts from down.
2) Do regular exercise for pectoralis major muscle , as the breasts are lying
over this muscle on your chest.
